Transitioning Your Shopify Integration to Pipe17

Updated over a week ago

Welcome to your new integration workflow. Moving your Shopify store to Pipe17 streamlines your order management and ensures your data flows accurately between platforms. This guide walks you through connecting your store, setting up the necessary permissions for our team, and understanding your new post-migration environment.

Key concepts and terms

  • Pipe17: The connectivity platform that syncs your Shopify data with your fulfillment or ERP systems.

  • Partner access: A secure way to grant our team specific permissions to your Shopify admin without sharing your primary login credentials.

  • OFG (Old Fulfillment Group): Your previous integration or fulfillment method that is being replaced by this migration.

  • Locations: Specific settings in Shopify that dictate where inventory is stored and fulfilled.

Portless partners access

To ensure a smooth transition, our team requires specific access to your Shopify settings. This allows us to configure shipping logic and verify inventory locations without interrupting your daily operations.

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Settings section and select Users.

  3. Search /locate and click on Portless collaborator.

  4. Under Roles, find the role labelled Portless X followed by your store name.

  5. Head to the Permission settings, and look for the Store settings.

  6. Enable the Shipping and delivery and Locations permissions. Then, click Save.

Connect your Shopify store to Pipe17

Connecting your Shopify account is the next step in the migration process. This establishes the secure link needed for Pipe17 to pull order data and push inventory updates.

  1. Accept the Pipe17 Invite. Check your inbox for an email from Pipe17 and click the link to create your password. Once done, log in to Pipe17.

  2. Connect to Pipe17. From the Pipe17 dashboard, click Integrations in the left menu.

  3. Add integration. Click the Add integration button. Search for Shopify and choose the Shopify integration (the first result).

  4. Open your Shopify store. Open your Shopify admin in a separate browser tab and make sure you are logged in as an Admin.

  5. Connect Shopify. Go back to Pipe17 and click Connect. Pipe17 will detect your Shopify store and prompt you to install the Pipe17 app in Shopify.

  6. Troubleshooting tip. If Shopify does not connect:

    • Try using Incognito Mode or a different browser

    • Make sure you are logged into the correct Shopify store

    • If you receive an error, take a screenshot and send it to [email protected].
