Common questions about eligibility, referral submissions, and how payouts are handled

Do I need to be a current Portless customer to participate?

No. The program is open to anyone who meets the eligibility criteria. Existing customers and unaffiliated third parties can all participate.

Can I refer more than one brand?

Yes. There is no limit on the number of brands you can refer. Each approved referral has its own independent $10,000 earning cap.

What makes a referral 'qualified'?

A referral becomes qualified, and fees can begin to accrue, only after all three of the following have occurred:

  1. Portless has confirmed the brand is eligible in writing

  2. You have made a documented introduction within 30 days of that confirmation

  3. The brand has signed a service agreement with Portless and shipped at least one paid order

What if the brand I want to refer is already in contact with Portless?

If the brand is already an active prospect in Portless's sales pipeline, your submission will be declined. Portless will notify you of the outcome within 5 business days of receiving your form submission. Portless cannot disclose specific reasons for a decline beyond the general eligibility criteria.

Is there a deadline for the brand to go live after I refer them?

There is no hard deadline for the brand to go live. However, if the referred brand generates less than $250 in fees in each of two consecutive calendar quarters after going live, the referral will permanently expire and no further fees will accrue. How long do I have to make the introduction after getting confirmation?

You have 30 days from the date of Portless's written confirmation. If you do not make a documented introduction within that window, the referral registration may lapse and you would need to resubmit.

What if two people refer the same brand?

Only the first partner to receive written confirmation from Portless for a given brand will earn fees for that brand. If another partner was confirmed before your submission, your submission for that brand will be declined.

Can I refer a company I own or control?

No. Referring an entity you own or control in order to earn fees on your own business activity is prohibited and will result in disqualification from the program.

Can Portless change or end the program?

Yes. Portless may modify, suspend, or terminate the program at any time, including changing fee terms or disqualifying participants, with or without notice. See Section 10 of the Terms & Conditions for full detail.
