Reviewing Order Status When Requesting Changes

Learn how to check an order’s status to see if changes can be made, and how to request updates before the order ships.

Your customers may need to update an order after placing it. Whether it is adjusting details or making changes, the ability to update depends on the order’s status. Here’s how you can quickly check if changes are still possible and what to do if you need to request a change.

Check if you can make order status changes

Orders that are already marked as Shipped or Delivered cannot be adjusted. However, if the order is still marked as Order Received or In Progress, you can make order status changes.

❗️Important

Once a First Mile or Last Mile tracking number has been generated for an order, it can no longer be modified or cancelled, even if the status still shows as "In Progress."

The generation of these tracking numbers signifies that the shipping label has already been printed and the package is prepared for immediate dispatch. To maintain fulfillment efficiency and prevent shipping discrepancies, we are unable to add/remove products or stop the delivery once this stage is reached.

Follow these steps to see if order changes can still be done.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Admin Portal.

  2. Go to the Orders tab.

3. Enter the order number in the search box. You may also use the customer's name.

4. Look at the order status:

  • If it shows order received or in progress, you can request a change.

  • If it shows shipped, changes are no longer possible.

Request changes

If your order status allows changes:

  1. Contact the Portless Customer Support Team.

  2. Share your complete order details and the specific changes you’d like us to make.
